What are your thoughts like?

Are you constantly focusing on thoughts that are putting you down? Studies show that the majority of people dwell on negative thoughts and emotions day in and day out. Most people will say that they are positive and for the most part they have good intentions but over a period of time our minds are programmed to focus on the negative.

I can understand why it’s hard to be positive when you’ve got gas prices going up, groceries are on the rise and the economy is down. It is often hard be positive but remember that someone else has it worse than you do.

Perhaps you have a job that is stressing you out, instead of dwelling on negative emotions and considering throwing in the towel, you should realize that there is someone out there who is looking for the job that you have and would give anything for your position.

When you wake up in the morning, you should be thankful and have welcoming thoughts of the new day and brand new mercies.  Some people will say "well I am welcoming of a new day but I just wake up tired and dragging." A good night’s rest has a great deal to do with the way we think and function. After a good night’s rest it is easier to wake up fully energized and in a positive frame of mind. In fact, studies show that anxiety and depression is fueled by a lack of sleep.

Make a point to dwell on thoughts of inspiration and motivation. You will notice a difference in the way you feel and react to situations when you make a choice to stay positive regardless of the situation.
